Researcher - Environmental and Agricultural Sciences

Junior Management Experimental Training Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Start Date: 04 May 2026

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Providing strategic research direction for the Soil, Plants, Animals and Environmental programmes in harmony with FGIG's Strategic Plan
  • Pro-active operations planning and management for the Agri-Cities Poultry Program
  • Recruitment of funding and project management in agricultural and natural resource environments, nationally and internationally
  • Acquisition and maintenance of research equipment, computers, peripherals and specialised software
  • Graduate student supervision, mentorship and research team leadership
  • Monitoring and evaluation of research and technology development projects, and maintenance of scientific quality standards
  • Scientific networking, nationally and internationally
  • Technology transfer and development of new research projects including planning, design, implementation and management
  • Plans and co-ordinates technical projects and ensures optimal utilisation of resources
